Our Story
A Neighborhood Bakery, Baked with Heart
KK's Bakery started with a simple belief: that the best baked goods are made with real ingredients, genuine care, and a little bit of love in every batch. Whether you're stopping by for a morning pastry or ordering a showstopping celebration cake, every item that leaves our kitchen is crafted to make someone's day a little sweeter.
KK is the owner of this wonderful bakery and coffee shop in St. James, MO that opened in April, 2026. At 16 years old, she started the business from a food truck in June, 2023 and moved into a storefront in Steelville, MO within six months. She owns and operates this bakery and coffee shop, handling the baking, determining menu items, and managing the staff and business details. Kayla started baking alongside her Nana at age 3 and by age 7, she was working in the family restaurant in Cuba (Nana's 12), until it closed in 2020.
She has grown up baking and loves making her own creations. She is a perfectionist and spends a lot of time getting her desserts just right; before she sells them to the public. She has baked for Sybill’s Restaurant the last two years and that partnership gave her the opportunity to open her bakery in St. James adjacent to the restaurant. She has big dreams for the future with hopes to expand the baking side of her business, since that is where her passion is. She has an incredible work ethic and continues to learn and try new recipes to share with her customers!
